In contrast to the single-stage A4, which used liquid oxygen and alcohol as rocket fuel, the rocket Rheinbote was a four-stage solid rocket. It was developed by the company Rheinmetall from the two-stage forerunner "Rheintochter" 1943/44 and tested in the rocket testing center Rumbke. In contrast to the A4, which was able to carry an explosive charge of 1 t over 300 km, the Rheinbote was only able to transport an explosive charge of 25 kg over a distance of 220 km. The rocket Rheinbote was used in November 1944 in the war effort. 220 missiles were fired at Antwerp.
